Abstract: In this paper the methods of estimation of plant density by the distance sampling, the parametric and .nonparametric estimation were discussed. Using a practical example, the theoretical formulas were examined. It was found that the nonparametric estimation based on ordered statistic is more available and useful for survey and investigation of forest resources.
